Making of Shian
I was asked to participate in a sculpture/light exhibit that was part of WinterFest, an annual festival held in February in Bend, Oregon.
I focused on what the sculpture would look like in the day as well as how it was perceived at night (this festival starts during the day and runs into the night).
Shian, meaning “reflection”, is made of steel, mirror, and LED lights. It is a commentary on the selfie-world we live in, which to me, is telling of how we engage with our environment.
