About Greg

Greg Amanti was born in New York's Hudson River Valley in 1971. At an early age, he felt the pull and power of sculpture while on a field trip to Storm King Art Center. This formative experience revealed to Greg the important relationship between sculpture and environment. He currently works and resides in Bend Oregon and is happily married to his wife Heather.

Greg attended the Art Institute of Seattle with a focus on commercial photography. A master mold maker, stone carver, and critically acclaimed artist and artisan, he has worked at the two largest foundries located on both coasts, and has assisted some of the most well-known contemporary artists, including Kiki Smith, Frank Stella, and Steven De Staebler.

Greg’s work has been included in exhibitions at the Fort Collins Museum of Contemporary Art, Hinterland Art Space, the Miami Photo Salon Festival, and RedLine Contemporary Art Center in Denver. In 2020, Greg was awarded the Photographers Forum Award of Excellence.

Greg served from 2011 to 2015 on the board of Creative Music Works, a Colorado nonprofit arts organization that provides educational and performance opportunities for musical innovators.

The BND DSGN Conference (Bend Design) hired Greg from 2016 to 2019 to create and install public interactive exhibits.

In 2018, Greg juried for the Fire Pit Sculpture Contest at Oregon Winterfest.

In 2020, Greg was awarded the Grand Prize for his work featured at the New York Center for Photographic Art in the artshow Water, juried by photographer Mark Sink.

.As of 2021, Greg operates a custom design-build business that produces unique interior and exterior objects.
